Travel 002 | A weekend in Bangkok

Sawadeeka! I’m back again to continue my Thai travel story. Our trip to Thailand is coming to and end. We drove back to Bangkok on the fourth day. Bye bye relaxing swimming pool, hello traffic jams. I have heard about the infamous traffic jams in Bangkok, but it’s the first time experiencing it. When we were nearing to our hotel. It was literally so close, yet so far away. For a moment I was thinking we should just walk out of the car and cross the street. Which means we will get there in less than five minutes. However it took us literally one hour to get there by car.

On our first evening in Bangkok we visited Asiatique. It is a great place those who love to shop and are looking for souvenirs. The next day we went the Rattanakosin district to visit Grand Palace and Wat Pho. The Grand Palace was probably the shiniest palace I’ve seen so far. Almost everything is covered in gold and shiny stones! It was just sublime. Afterwards we walked over to Wat Pho. We wandered around the temple and visited the Reclining Buddha.

That was our last full day in Thailand. The next morning we flew back to Hong Kong. Gosh, looking back at the photos, it really does make me miss Thailand! I definitely want to visit Thailand again. The food was delicious (Green curry anyone?) and the people were very friendly. Can’t wait to be back!

Kapunka!
