Butchers Club Southside Markets - Long Lunch

On a Sunday morning, still a bit drowsy, I got a phone call asking if I was down for an event with food. Lots of food. I was suddenly wide awake and replied with a loud and clear yes. (Really, who would say no to unlimited food?) I got myself ready as fast as a typhoon raging through the streets of Hong Kong and dashed off to “over the water”.

When we arrived at The Butchers Club Deli in Wong Chuk Hang, the place was already filled with people when we stepped foot into the space. Kids and food were spread over the floor, having fun eating spaghetti and watching Cars. We decided to move to the rooftop, where all the fun was happening. The vibe on the rooftop was most excellent. The sun was shining, the food was fab, the music was great (thanks to the live band), everyone was in a relaxed mood.

A few highlights were the homemade lemonade “sold” by kids (so cute!), the mussels were absolutely divine and so were the sausages and the greek salad. Did I mention the blueberry lemon tart? The balance between sweet and sour was just right. After all the food and booz, it was time to show off some of our dance moves (the band was covering Basket Case from Green Day). Just about when rain is about to pour down on us, the event ended.
